Tioga has more recently had a focus towards BMX racing, and Extra UK have taken the decision that the UK BMX race market isn’t a key strength of their current business model. With Extra wanting to retain a good reputation with an established vendor such as Tioga, Extra’s National Sales Manager Simon Ford opened discussions with Ison to take on the future distribution for Tioga.
“After around 20 years working with Tioga it’s with a heavy heart that we part ways but it’s the right time to pass the baton onwards. Ison have long been involved with riders and BMX racing in particular and have great complementing brands so it makes them the perfect fit to keep the Tioga name firmly established in the UK. Both Tioga and Ison have a long heritage based around the BMX and MTB sectors and it seems quite logical that Ison would be very happy to partner with a component brand such as Tioga.
From February 1st, Tioga will be distributed via Ison, and will complement the existing brands that Ison distributes including: Dia Compe brakes, ODI grips, HT pedals, Gusset components, Halo wheels, Identiti frames, Volume BMX and Demolition BMX to name but a few.
